BWCA 2018 - 10 years & 480 rods

10 years and 480 rods... EP 19 Stuart River to EP 16 Moose River My wife and I celebrated our 10 year anniversary in January and had been planning a BWCA trip to celebrate, so why not enter the Boundary Waters Canoe Area starting with a 480 rod portage just 2 days after running a marathon? The Boundary Waters Canoe Area is a federally protected area in the Northeast corner of Minnesota that is comprised of over 1 million acres, 1100 lakes, and extends along 150 miles of the Candadian border.  The area was carved out by glaciers over 17,000 years ago and in 1978 became protected under the Boundary Waters Canoe Area Wilderness Act. Motorboats are restricted to only a handful of lakes and aircraft are not able to fly under 4,000 feet.  This is truly a special place we have to enjoy, share, and protect.
